The charge of a powder depends on lines of factors and more often is defined by practical consideration for each kind of works. The factors influencing the charge of a powder:

Dispersiveness of a powder

Quantity of glitters in a mix

Character of the image (the more finely elements, the charge of a powder and accordingly the more large elements there is more, the charge of a powder there is less)

Paint or varnish for drawing the image under thermography. The material should be kept by as more as possible damp within no more than 5-8 seconds after a seal, the given value is important for automatic thermographic machines NR and SE series, all formats. The more damp (sticky) paint or a varnish, the more powder will stick also to it. For processed UV it is delicious surfaces it is recommended to use масленые paints or varnishes which provide the best quality of the image.

Neutral powder

This powder is for using as well as in pure condition as in mixture with spangles - glitters. There are three types of the neutral powder:

  • CLEAR - colourless, glossy, crystal transparent.
  • GLOSS - colourless, glossy, transparent.
  • MATT - colourless, matt, transparent.

Nacreous powder

For the making of the effect of nacreous shade for any of ink this powder must be used. The colour of the ink is not changing, only on the surface it appears colour nacreous shade. For example, powder "Green Pearlescent" on the red ink will be red and on the surface will appear green shade with nacreous brilliance.

Silver, gold, bronze

Gives to the image an effect of the colour silver, gold, bronze. For example with blue ink it must be used silver powder. After thermal treatment цвет the colour of the image looks like dark silver with blue shade. Red inks and bronze powder looks like cooper. Colours, which are obtained during the printing with these powders looks very spectacular!

Snow, luminous, fluorescent

These types of the powders gives to the images very specific effects. “Snow” and “Fluorescent”powders fully covered the colour of the ink which is under the powders. "Luminous" powder precisely reproduce the colour of the inks and in the same time is shining in the darkness. If you want to make an impression , if you want your production will be the best- in these cases these materials are for you!


You must use “Laser”in case when production which are producet could not have a termal treatment (over 160 C). Тhermographer SUNRAISE is equipped with UV lamp.The “Laser” powder under UV waves becomes covered with foam and looks like ordinary Hiflo Gloss powder. During tjis procces the paper is not getting warm.

Climatic conditions which are recommended for the best results are the next:

  • Temperature in the printing house 23 + 5С
  • Humidity of the air 50 + 5

Recommended speed of printing for the thermographers:

  • Serie HP - 1000 - 3000 sheets per hour
  • Serie SE – 1000 - 4000 sheets per hour

Optimal speed of printing is choosing by the operator of the thermographer for each circulation separately. It depends form the type and grammature of the paper, optical density of the inks, complicacy of the image and the size of the details. сложности изображения и величины деталей. When you have solid printing of the surface it is recommended to decrease the temperature or to increase the speed of the thermographer.

During producing of the thermographic powders and mixtures the special additives are used. : These additives are stabilizer and antistatic agent which supplied considerable decreasing of the electrostatic level. In case when the particles of the powder have the different sizes, they fly out from the powder collection unit. Also these particles left traces on that places of printing sheet, where there must be mo thermography.
